GENDARMES GIBERNE OF THE KING'S MILITARY HOUSE, model 1814, Restoration period. 30193
Wooden box covered in waxed Bordeaux long-grain morocco leather and adorned on its sides with gilt brass plates, at the top of which is fixed a ring intended to receive the hooks for suspending the banner, height of the box 7.5 cm, width 13.5 cm.
Cartridge box flap, total height 9.7 cm, width 15.9 cm, in gilded smooth polished brass with agate stone, bordered on its sides and lower part by a relief chiselled 0.4 cm wide edging, and in its center adorned with a gilt bronze emblem representing the flaming and sparkling thunderbolt of Jupiter (height 5 cm, width 9 cm). The flap is lined with waxed Bordeaux long-grain morocco leather with an identical flap sewn into the wood for closure.
Box thickness 2.2 cm.

Banner in leather lined with scarlet cloth, covered with a galloon in gilt silver threads with four black silk stripes, width 5 cm. All trimmings in gilt brass. An shield decorated with two laurel branches framing a medallion with fleur-de-lis, topped with a large stamped royal crown, both connected by three gourmette chains, two of which end with a fleur-de-lis. A flourish finishes the banner, an oval-shaped buckle, both decorated with feathers and a smooth slider. Two buckles each with an attachment hook.
Banner cover in waxed Bordeaux long-grain morocco leather adorned with ten half-rounded, smooth gilded brass buttons.

Restoration period.
Very good condition, lining of the banner cloth is worn with some losses, a split lightning design but without losses on the cartridge box flap.
NOTE: This is the only complete example of this model that I have had the opportunity to encounter, with its banner cover.
