LIGHT CAVALRY OFFICER'S SABRE, First Empire. 33532
Brass hilt with a guard of three branches. Long-tailed pommel engraved with an oval medallion featuring the initials "G or C L" and the officer's coat of arms. Handle made of wood covered in black waxed calf leather, with copper filigree. Curved Damascus blade with double grooves and central edges, acid-etched with oriental decorations (moon, crescent, star, military trophies, and Arabic inscription), ending in a carp's tongue, measuring 81.6 cm in length. Entirely brass scabbard with two belt rings decorated with lines, and a steel tip in the shape of a lyre at the end.

Poor condition, guard in very good condition, leather on the handle missing on the upper part with wear, some filigree missing, blade broken and re-welded at 31.5 cm from its lower tip, missing scabbard throat, scabbard with defects and creases at 35 cm from its lower end.
