Polished steel revolver. Octagonal barrel signed on the top flat "ADDRESS SAML COLT / NEW-YORK CITY," 12 cm long, 31 mm caliber. Left side of the frame marked "Colt Patent", 6.3 cm long. 5-shot cylinder, 3.7 cm long, single action, marked "COLTS PATENT" depicting a stagecoach attack. Loading lever. Trigger guard and backstrap in silver-plated brass. Varnished walnut grip panels.
Barrel, frame, trigger guard, backstrap, cylinder all marked with the same number "39032".
Total length of the weapon 25 cm.

Good condition, some wear and oxidation, silver-plated brass parts slightly rubbed on the edges, small chip on one of the grip panels.

The Colt 1849 Pocket, created in 1849 by the Colt's Patent Firearms Manufacturing Company, is a pocket revolver with a 5 or 6-shot cylinder, loading lever, and round trigger guard. It was mainly used by civilians, as well as by police, couriers, and stagecoach companies. Many of these Colt Pocket Model 1849 revolvers saw action in the Civil War. Between 1849 and 1873, Colt manufactured 321,000 Pocket Revolvers in Hartford, Connecticut, USA.
