Letter with address and red wax seal: "To the Citizen / Dagant Director / of the posts of the Army / of the Ardennes / At Sedan".
"Sedan, 26 frimaire 2nd republican year.
You will kindly, citizen, send me immediately the list of employees under your command, you will comply with the request of the revolutionary criminal accuser of the Army of the Ardennes.
Greetings. By the Commissioner of Wars.

Handwritten note in the margin: "Answered on the 27th, satisfied".
Double leaflet, 1 page of writing. H 20.8 cm x 16.5 cm.
Good condition, crease marks, tear with corner missing near the address (with no impact on the address).
HISTORICAL:
The Army of the Ardennes
It was created by decree of the Convention on October 1, 1792, and formed from the right wing of the Army of the North
Reorganized by order of the Executive Council on March 1, 1793, only its right wing retained the name of the Army of the Ardennes
By order of the Executive Council on October 5, 1793 (11 vendémiaire year II), the 1st division was incorporated into the Army of the North
By decree of the Convention on June 29, 1794 (11 messidor year II), it formed, together with the left wing of the Army of the Moselle and the right wing of the Army of the North, the Army of Sambre-et-Meuse
