Iron hilt with a four-branch guard. Long-tailed pommel. Horn grip with 13 flutes. Strong straight blade with a lozenge section and double fullers, length 89 cm, signed at the base "Manufacture Klingenthal, Coulaux Aîné et Comp.ie". Fluted ferrule.
Stamped with a "B" under a crown of a private armorer, used in the cavalry since 1837.
Iron scabbard with two movable suspension rings.
