HUNTING RIFLE WITH SILVER TRIMMINGS FROM THE MANUFACTURE DE VERSAILLES, Nicolas Boutet, Restoration - July Monarchy. 33553

Double side-by-side barrels, initially flat at the breech then round, measuring 79.4 cm in length, 85.5 cm with the breech tail. Engraved on top "Manufacture / Versailles," with an oval hallmark featuring two crossed laurel branches. Flat-bodied percussion locks. Flat-bodied locks converted to percussion, both signed "Manufacture de Versailles." Smooth silver thumb piece. All silver fittings engraved and cut with floral motifs. Marked under-guard "G B" in a diamond shape, with an elderly head and an octagonal stamp containing the number "3" and a rooster. Similarly hallmarked silver butt plate as the under-guard.
Walnut stock, finely checkered and sculpted hand grips with a monster head under the butt.

Poor condition, oxidation on the barrels (cleaned), two missing pieces along the stock near the right barrel (one at the front for 4 cm, the second near the lock for 3 cm), fractured buttstock repaired at the handgrip with added wood about one centimeter wide. Non-period screws at the trigger guard bow.
