Four-sided barrel stamped "P 70064", dated "S.1872", marked "ME F.V", and two stamps in circles "B" and "J", barrel length 79.4 cm, length with breech block 100.5 cm, length with the breech casing 95.5 cm. Bayonet lug on the right side. Front sight on a cubic base. Hardened steel breech block, mobile and consisting of a forged cylinder, integral with the operating lever, firing pin sliding in a cylinder connected to the needle holder by a T-sleeve. Breech casing marked "St Etienne / Model 1866". Breech block similarly numbered to the barrel "P 70064".
Walnut stock with a long shaft also marked "P 70064", signed "J. FRAPPAT", acceptance stamp marked "MA" and "May 1873". All fittings in steel. Steel ramrod.
Total length of the rifle 131 cm.
Brown leather rifle sling, 3 cm wide, with brass buckles.
