CUIRASS OF THE CARABINIERS, model 1854, Second Empire. 33446-2
Cuirass of the modified 1830 model from 1854. Made of steel plated with a sheet of brass, consisting of a backplate and a breastplate.
The breastplate is bordered by ten brass studs and lined with a brass sheet itself bordered by six brass rivets. In the center, there is a wrought iron glory in the shape of a radiant sun on which an oval badge made of stamped brass is attached, depicting an imperial eagle on a sandblasted background framed by laurel branches. The breastplate is marked with the number "580" and inscribed inside "Manufacture Royale Klingenthal 1823 size 1 No. 420".
The backplate is bordered by six brass studs, lined with a brass plate itself bordered by six brass rivets, adorned with two leather straps covered with a double chain of intertwined round brass rings with a brass lock in the upper part. The backplate is marked "573", inscribed "Manufacture Royale Klingenthal June 1823 No. 1154". It features a brown leather belt with a steel buckle.
Complete with its internal clasps for the attachment of the padding.

Good condition. Breastplate: missing two rivets from the shoulders. Backplate: leather of one of the straps broken in the upper part (but complete), pull of the second shoulder strap in poor condition, belt not original model.
