Helmet entirely made of brass. Crest with prominent moldings decorated on the front with a grenade. Front plate in stamped brass with a shield featuring a bursting grenade, a crown, oak and laurel branches, and a ribbon bearing the inscription "SAPEURS POMPIERS SAUZÉ.VAUSSAIS". Interior leather liner cut into six wolf teeth and chinstraps in black polished leather.
