LINE INFANTRY SAPPER SABER, July Monarchy. 33526
Single-piece brass hilt with a Gallic rooster directly taken from the Consulate model. Pommel in the shape of a rooster's head, smooth octagonal grip. Straight guard with a raised relief central section depicting the head of the Nemean Lion, with palmettes on each side of the quillons ending in lion heads. Height of the hilt 18.8 cm, width at the guard level 16.3 cm. Curved, white blade with hollow facets, 68.5 cm long. Scarlet cloth knot. Black varnished leather scabbard with two brass fittings decorated with lines, chape with raised palmette for belt wearing, tip of the scabbard with a brass finial.
