GENDARMERY PISTOL, Model 1842, Second Republic. 33521
Five-sided barrel with short sight and no rear sight. Butt cap housing the large war chimney identical to the weapons of the 1842 system, marked "MN" and with hardly legible punch marks. Barrel length 12.7 cm. Engraved breech block marked "Mle 1842", length with breech block 16 cm. Caliber 15.2 mm. 1840 model lock plate behind the hammer signed "Mre Nle de Mutzig", stamped with "K" under a crown. Hammer identical to the 1822T pistol model. Walnut grip marked "METZ / 130", all fittings in steel. Strap holding the frizzen below the grip in line with the trigger guard and the trigger guard screw. Ramrod from the 1822T model.
