Turban in garance (madder red) cloth mounted on a felt frame, side and back seams trimmed with a jonquil wool cord, front height 7 cm. Cap in the same cloth, oval in shape (12.5 cm x 14.5 cm) bordered with a jonquil wool cord.
Band sewn at the bottom of the turban, in dark blue cloth in one piece, height 4.5 cm, bordered at the top with a jonquil wool cord, as well as at the bottom at the level of the visor. At the front of the band is sewn a piece of dark blue cloth embroidered with the number "81" in jonquil wool, height 2.7 cm, the seams are stitched with silk thread. Square-shaped visor in heavy cowhide, width 4.5 cm. Relief-stamped white iron cockade, tricolored, diameter 4.5 cm. In the center of the cockade there is a hole where the button tail is inserted and soldered inside the cockade. Cockade braid made up of two strands of jonquil square braid, 4mm thick, doubled around the button tail. The four strands together have a width of 1.6 cm and are tucked between the turban and the gusset. Button in copper tomback, flattened half-spherical, diameter 1.4 cm.
Interior lining composed of a leather headband, paper label glued to the bottom of the cap showing the number 81 of the regiment.
Pompom consisting of four elements: thistle-shaped green wool flame, diameter 4.5 cm; small jonquil wool collar (deviating from regulations) and scalloped, height 6mm, diameter 7 mm; sphere of wood covered in jonquil cloth with wool cord at the junction, adorned with a cut brass number 4, diameter 3 cm; iron rod bolted, height 5 cm.

In fairly good condition, moth holes at the base of the band, wear on the cords, visor partially unstitched but not torn.
