BIOGRAPHY:
FOUILLÉ Georges, Jean, Clément. Born in 1909 in Paris, died in 1994 in Leucate.
Appointed official navy painter in 1947. Initially destined for the navy, his health forced him to give it up. Georges Fouillé then turned to maritime painting, appointed as the navy's titular painter, he embarked on the Richelieu in 1949.
Georges Fouillé wanted to combine art with historical research. He brought a historian's precision to his work.
He also created lead soldier figurines as well as dioramas and models.
