BIOGRAPHY:
FOUILLÉ Georges, Jean, Clément. Born in 1909 in Paris, died in 1994 in Leucate.
Appointed official painter of the Navy in 1947. Originally intended for the navy, poor health forced him to give it up. Georges Fouillé then turned to maritime painting and was appointed as the official painter of the Navy, embarking on the Richelieu in 1949.
Georges Fouillé aimed to combine art with historical research. He brought a historian's precision to his work.
He also created lead soldier figurines as well as dioramas and models.
