Brass hilt. Single-branch guard. Crosspiece with ears. Cap with long tail decorated with lines. Handle made of wood covered with copper filigree calfskin. Curved blade with hollow edges, length 76.7 cm, engraved on the obverse side "Répe" (Republic), and on the reverse side "Franse" (French), stamped with the fasces of the lictors and signed on the back "KLINGENTHAL". Wooden scabbard covered with black waxed calfskin with two large brass fittings decorated with scalloped edges, each of these fittings with brass rings and ring studs. Cap with projecting cup-shaped mouth, tip of the scabbard with cut steel blade. Between the two fittings, the scabbard is completed with two brass bands.
