Gilt bronze hilt. Guard with one branch decorated with the Nemean lion on its outer face. Shield-shaped hilt with beaded border, molded in its center with a plumed helmet resting on a quiver, a bow, and a sword, symbols of the aides-de-camp. Helmet-shaped pommel. Handle made of wood with mother-of-pearl scales and gilt brass side bars decorated with a series of flowers. Brass ferrules. Triangular blade, length 79 cm.

Fair condition, gilt worn off on hilt, missing rear mother-of-pearl scale, period-correct but not original mother-of-pearl scale, oxidized blade. No scabbard.
