Gilt bronze hilt finely cast and chiseled in the style of Nicola Boutet's models. Guard with one branch decorated with laurel leaves and an eagle head in a medallion on each side. Curved quillon embellished with a flower. Shield-shaped openwork knucklebow decorated with a helmeted Minerva head surrounded by a laurel crown, with water and floral motifs on either side. The knucklebow is bordered with a laurel leaf and flower molding. Quadrilobed pommel decorated with an owl, an ancient helmet, and flowers. Wooden handle with mother-of-pearl plates and gilt brass side bars with oak branches. Ferrules adorned with water leaves and laurel branches. Triangular blade signed "IGB," engraved and gilded on its first third with military trophies, floral motifs, a civic crown, on a blued background, length 86.1 cm. Remnant of scarlet cloth attachment.
