CHILDREN'S COURT SWORD, Former Monarchy, reign of Louis XV, circa 1735. Inventory number 32745
Gilt brass hilt. Guard with one branch decorated with lines. Pommel, handle, and crossguard decorated in relief with twists. Ring guard with little rings. Double inverted quillon. Shell guard edged with a raised molding. Triangular white blade engraved on two-thirds with floral motifs, the inscription "Honni soit / Qui mal ÿ / Pense", an ancient warrior in full figure, ... Blade length 58.7 cm.
