Made of cardboard covered with dark blue cloth, bordered on the upper part with a black woolen braid called "cul-de-dé", black varnished leather chin strap, hunting horn symbol of the unit, made of stamped brass. Tricolor enameled metal cockade on which is attached a square double-strand dark blue passementerie braid held by a smooth half-spherical brass button. Spherical pompon made of green wool.
On the sides, ventilation holes made of painted tombac copper matching the color of the background fabric. Gilded brass chin strap with leather lining, on the sides and at the back of the hat at the level of the braid, three gilt metal lion heads are used to secure the chin strap. Black varnished leather visor edged with a folded gilt brass strip that overlaps the outer edge, lined with black Morocco leather.
Black leather interior cap cut into six lobes. Difficult to read acceptance stamp on the bottom of the cap.

Very good condition, three moth holes on the headband, hat in very good condition with slight signs of wear.
