TROOP CAP OF THE GENDARMERIE, model 1895, Third Republic. 27807
Cap and turban in dark blue cloth, band in black cloth. Band and turban edged with an elite braid in Hungarian stitch, known as "lizard" in white cotton thread and a matching cord. Top of the cap adorned in its center with a grated air vent. On the front of the band, a grenade with nine flames embroidered in white cotton thread on a cloth background patch, with a white cord at the lower part of the visor. Round visor in strong black varnished leather, embossed green morocco underneath. Sweatband in blackened leather, black satin interior lining, stamp of the gendarmerie acceptance commission.

Good condition, some moth nibbles, accident on one of the lateral cords, cap worn with signs of use.
