Body made of cardboard covered with taupe felt, height 23 cm, topped with a woven silver thread braid in the "lizard" pattern, 2.5 cm wide, and at the bottom with a 1.5 cm high black varnished leather chinstrap. Black varnished leather top, Ø 22.5 cm. Black leather visor, green waxed underneath, width 6.5 cm.
Tricolor metal cockade stamped with a rooster on a radiant sun background, Ø 6.3 cm.
Front plate made of silver-plated copper, stamped and cut with a Gallic rooster with outspread wings resting on a round medallion stamped with a grenade with a hunting horn, all set on a bundle of flags. Plate height 14 cm, width 11.7 cm.
Chinstraps made up of two leather chin straps covered with black velvet and topped with a silver-plated copper plate stamped with a series of scales; each chin strap is attached to the shako by a round rosette stamped with a flaming grenade in a hunting horn, Ø 4 cm, made of silver-plated copper with a double tab fixed at the back that folds inside the body.
Interior lining made of waxed black sheepskin cut into four large wolf teeth.
Scarlet wool pom-pom flame, Ø of the pom-pom 6.5 cm, height of the flame 16.5 cm.
