Louis Merley 1815-1883. Sculptor and medal engraver, First Grand Prix of Rome for engraving in 1843, resident at the Villa Medici from 1844 to 1847. Knight of the Legion of Honor, he notably engraved the commemorative medal for the Trade Treaty concluded between France and England on January 23, 1860.
