Gilded brass hilt. Keyboard molded in relief of a helmeted goddess against a military trophy backdrop. Pommel with a short tail ending in a lion's head shape. Four-sided wooden handle, finely checkered on two sides. Brass ferrule. Triangular blade, length 85 cm, richly engraved and gilded along its entire length with floral decorations, geometric patterns, the Arms of France, a medallion with a fleur-de-lis, a cartouche depicting a radiant sun with a wader and the inscription "Spernit humillis veritus," an ancient warrior, and various mythological symbols.

Good condition, faded hilt, blade with some oxidation from use, broken quillon, no scabbard.
