OFFICER'S HUNTER CAPE JACKET OF THE CHASSEURS D'AFRIQUE, Second Empire. 31148
Hooded jacket, made entirely of dark sky blue cloth, richly decorated with black wool braid and piping bordering the entire garment and decorating it on all sides with Hungarian knots and geometric patterns. It fastens at the front with laces (three on each side) made of braided black wool cord. Each lace is finished with an aglet, a black tassel, and three black tufts, each stopped by a small scarlet bead.
The interior lining of the jacket and hood is made of fine crimson cloth, entirely bordered with a silk braid in gold, crimson, green, and beige woven with geometric designs. This braid is framed with piping in gold and crimson threads. Each interior seam is covered with a braided cord in a mix of gold and crimson.
At the juncture of the hood and jacket, the lining is reinforced with a wide black velvet ribbon, finished on each side with a black velvet tab embroidered with oriental motifs in silver thread.
The sleeves are lined with crimson silk.
On each side at hip level, there is a 15 cm opening for hand passage.
