SILVER-MOUNTED HUNTING DAGGER, Former Monarchy, circa 1768-1769. 33165
Silver hilt with double reversed quillon, stamped. Ebony handle intricately carved in relief with chevron design, adorned with three silver flower-shaped studs, plain silver framing rod, and decorated pommel cover. Blade engraved in gold with hunting scenes and floral motifs, measuring 47.5 cm in length.
Wooden scabbard covered in black shagreen with three silver garnitures decorated with lines, all stamped. Chape with button for belt carrying with a suspension ring, similar to the central garniture, scabbard tip with steel chape.
Hallmarks: Paris 1768-1769, charge mark with flower, discharge mark with helmeted head, dated letter E.
