POWDER FLASK FROM THE REIGN OF FREDERICK II OF PRUSSIA, Circa 1740-1786. 33166
Made of natural horn, with gilded bronze fittings, decorated and finely chiseled in relief with acanthus leaves, water leaves, laurel branches, bordered on its outer side with a molded rod, screw-shaped knob in the form of a dog's head, decorative appliqué depicting an imperial eagle resting on a shield with the initials of Frederick II "F II", all set against a background of military trophies. Hooks for attachment to the suspension strap.
