HELMET
Dome, visor, and neck guard made of steel sheet with brass fittings.
Dome in two parts joined and welded together, pierced at the top with two vent holes.
Dome marked "642", dated 1872 "72", and marked with the manufacturer "DELACHAUSSÉE." Dome height 15 cm.
Visor and neck guard with brass edging folded over their outer border, lined with black waxed sheepskin on the inside.
Front band of the Imperial Guard model but with the matrix modified with a flaming bomb centered at the bottom on two laurel branches. The modification of the matrix is visible as on each side of the flaming bomb, there are traces of the modification on the matrix with two vertical lines. Band framed by prominent moldings at the top and bottom, height on the sides 2.7 cm and 8 cm in the center. It is attached on each side to the dome with rivets and at the top it is attached to the base of the crest with a steel screw.
Crest (height 11 cm) composed of: two fins embossed with a series of 10 decreasing compartments towards the back, bordered at the top with laurel leaves. The bottom of the fins is scalloped and folded outward, and attached on each side to the dome with 4 round-headed brass screws. Mask (height 14.5 cm, width 4 cm) embossed with a relief of a medusa's head at the top; it is secured at the base with a steel screw.
Crest ornament made of embossed brass with twisted moldings on the socket and the olive; 2.5 cm high olive, 3.2 cm socket adorned with a 6.5 cm high scarlet horsehair plume.
Black horsehair mane, approximately 60 cm long.
Chin strap with leather chin straps covered with interlaced brass rings (with the widest ring diameter of 3.5 cm and the narrowest of 2 cm), with rosettes embossed with laurel leaves (diameter 5.5 cm) attached to the dome with a brass screw.
Brass plume holder in a tubular shape tapering downwards, decorated with laurel branches. Height 4.1 cm.
Interior leather liner cut into ten "wolf teeth".
Total height of the helmet 39 cm.

CUIRASS
Made of steel, consisting of a backplate and a breastplate similarly marked on the outer edges "1296".
Breastplate bordered by 21 brass nails and 5 steel nails, marked inside "Manufactured Klingenthal, Coulaux & Cie 1856 2T 1erL N 342". At the top, the hook location for the cartridge box has been closed by two steel rivets.
Backplate bordered by 39 brass nails, topped with two leather straps covered with intertwined figure-eight link brass chains with a steel lock finished with leather straps, and at the bottom a black leather belt. Backplate marked similarly to the breastplate "Manufactured Klingenthal, Coulaux & Cie 1856 2T 1erL N 342".

Helmet: very good condition, central part of the horsehair mane missing, two "wolf teeth" on the liner missing.
Cuirass: in perfect condition, original leather straps of the shoulder pads are broken but have been reinforced subsequently with calf linings. Belt leather is posterior.
