Helmet model 1858.
Bowl made of hammered brass in two shells joined by a staple. Pierced at the top with two suction holes (Ø 2.5 cm and the second rectangular). Height of the bowl 14.5 cm. The bowl is stamped on the back by the manufacturer "DELACHAUSSÉE", dated 1856 and numbered "317".
Visor in brass, width 5.5 cm. Its outer curve has a very obtuse angle in the middle, bordered by a circle of white metal called maillechort, placed astride, 7 mm wide on each folded face, and fixed at each end by a rivet. Interior lining of the visor and nape guard in black waxed sheepskin.
Nape guard in brass, encircled similarly to the visor, adorned with 3 maillechort studs on each side.
Bandeau made of tinplate, stamped all around with two raised edges (width 4 mm). Height on the sides 3.6 cm. It features a rounded point in the middle, 10.3 cm high, which joins the crest and is stopped by a semi-spherical headed iron screw. The two ends of the bandeau are riveted to the bowl near the chinstraps.
In the middle of the bandeau, attached by two tempered iron screws with the heads inside, is an embossed brass ornament, depicting a grenade surrounded by palm leaves (height of this ornament 7.7 cm; maximum width 7.2 cm).
Chinstraps composed of a strong leather chin strap covered with a decreasing sequence of interlaced brass rings shaped like 8's. Length of the chin strap 20 cm; length of the part covered with rings 14.5 cm. Width of the top link: 4.6 cm. Width of the bottom one: 2.2 cm. In the middle of each chin strap, a flat brass hook is intended to hold the rings. The right chin strap ends in a brass chain and hook, the left chin strap ends in a simple hook.
Rosette made of stamped iron in a round shape (Ø 5.5 cm) with protruding outer molding and struck in the center with a radiating sun. This rosette is connected to the rings of the chin strap by two brass rings and attached to the bowl by means of a brass five-pointed star (Ø 2.6 cm) to the back of which is welded a threaded rod passing through the bowl.
Crest consisting of two fins and a mask, in brass. Each fin has a curvilinear triangle, with the base connecting to the bowl by means of a 1.3 to 1.7 cm scalloped rim adorned with small flutes. The fins are embossed in relief with a frame of acanthus leaves and in the middle with a laurel branch and at its center with laurel branches. Each fin is attached to the bowl by two hemispherical-headed iron screws. Max height of the fins 13.2 cm.
The mask serves to join the two fins in front, to which it is welded by its edges decorated with raised lines. It ends squarely at the top and at the bottom with a lamp socket that fits under the bandeau and is pierced by the same screw. (Width of the mask at the top 3.5 cm; in the middle 2.2 cm; at the bottom 4 cm). It is attached at the bottom by the screw on the top of the bandeau.
In addition to being welded to the mask, the two fins are joined together by a white iron partition.
At the bottom, the fins are connected by an iron plate forming a hook that fits into one of the suction holes of the helmet.
Scarlet horsehair plume mounted on a steel wire. It extends about 5 cm beyond the crest (regulation of 1858). Under the plume, a metal plate dated "1870" and numbered "349" is attached.
Interior cap in black waxed sheepskin cut into nine wolf teeth, each adorned with a metal eyelet.
Total height of the helmet 36 cm.

Cuirass model 1866.
Model called "at waist level". Made of steel plated with a sheet of brass, composed of a backplate and a breastplate.
Breastplate edged with ten brass studs and lined with a brass sheet itself bordered by six brass rivets. In the center is fixed an iron glory in the shape of a radiating sun on which is attached an oval brass badge stamped with an imperial eagle on a sanded background framed by laurel branches; the central motif is attached inside the breastplate by two steel butterfly nuts. Traces of markings inside but not legible due to oxidation.
Backplate bordered with six brass studs, lined with a brass plate itself bordered by six brass rivets, adorned at the top with two leather straps covered with a double chain of brass rings interlaced with round steel locks. Traces of markings inside but not legible due to oxidation. Brown leather belt with a brass buckle.

Helmet in very good condition. Cuirass in very good exterior condition, interior oxidized, leather belt replaced.
