OFFICER'S FULL DRESS GIBERNE AND SABRETACHE OF THE GUIDES OF THE IMPERIAL GUARD, second model 1857, Second Empire. 33003
GIBERNE.
Bandoleer in leather entirely covered with waxed morocco leather and covered in green velvet (width 5 cm), adorned on its outside with a 3-lisere silver passementerie of dark green silk. This bandoleer is decorated with five silver metal fittings, a rectangular buckle, a loop, a shield-shaped plate, as well as an oval sunburst decorated in the center with an uncrowned imperial eagle above a large crown of the Guides, the latter two elements are connected by two link chains.
First model 1853 case, wooden box covered in dark green waxed morocco leather lined with green velvet with the two silvered sides framed by a carved rod.
Box height 7.2 cm, max width 14 cm, min width 12 cm.
Rectangular slightly trapezoidal-shaped leather tab (H 8.7 cm, width at top 15.8 cm, width at bottom 16.57 cm) lined with green waxed morocco leather, covered with a gilded copper plate edged with a silver metal rod (width 8 mm) embossed with oak leaf branches connected by intertwined ribbons. The center is decorated with a sunburst in silver metal (H 6.8 cm, width 14 cm). Attached to this sunburst are two gilt brass ornaments: an "N" on a sanded background (H 2.2 cm, width 2.2 cm) surmounted by the imperial crown of the Guides (H 5.5 cm, width 6.1 cm).
SABRETACHE.
Leather sabretache, tab covered in green cloth and bordered by a 3.2 cm wide golden braid. The center is decorated with a gilded brass plate stamped with the large imperial arms. Plate height 17 cm, width 12 cm. A golden braid is folded over the outer edges. Interior lining in green waxed leather with a pocket lined in black cloth. Height 28.5 cm (excluding rings), width at the top 17.7 cm, width at the bottom 26 cm.
BELT.
Belt with green waxed leather suspension straps (width 3.2 cm) covered with golden braid with green silk piping. Silver metal buckles with hooks for the sword. Complete with its five suspension straps covered with golden braid with a green silk piping. The three buckles of the straps for the sabretache are in silver metal, and the two buckles of the sword suspension straps are in gilded brass.

Very good condition, with usual oxidation of the trimmings.
NOTE:
On this example, the first model 1953 case with a gilded rod has been preserved, only the bandoleer of the second model 1857 with silver fittings has been replaced.
