Gilt brass hilt. Three-branch guard forming a shell at the front decorated with a military trophy on a background of flags framed by an oak branch and laurel. Long-tailed pommel. Pommel representing a plumed helmet. Handle made of wood entirely filigreed with golden threads and braided silver-copper threads. Curved blade with hollow facets, length 79.5 cm, engraved and gilded on its first third on one side "Pour La Nation", and on the other side "LA LOI & LE ROY", all on a blued background. Natural leather sword knot.

Good condition, hilt ungilted, blade never cleaned with oxidation from use, retaining its gilding but losing its bluing. The word "ROY" was roughly scratched out in 1792. Without scabbard.
