H 40 cm; width 74 cm.
France. First Empire - Restoration. Good condition, some small accidents, sun-faded colors.
NOTE: This type of equipment is quite complicated to identify because very few examples have come down to us, and comparisons are very rare. We have compared this example to the description made in the text of the BARDIN regulation of 1812: "CHAPTER SEVENTH: SPECIFIC PROVISIONS FOR LIGHT ARTILLERY, LIGHT CAVALRY, AND BODIES ASSIMILATED TO THIS CAVALRY; SECTION 4 - French Chevau-légers - Article 4 - Arms and Equipment". "Article 1454 - Composition of the equipment The equipment will be entirely in accordance with what is prescribed in the general provisions (See No. 657 to 681). It will also include a lance flame and a lance strap for those who will use this weapon. The musket-strap flag will also be distributed in equal number to that of the muskets. Article 1455 - Lance flame". The Bardin regulation of 1816 mentions the same characteristics but gives a length of 670 mm with the band for attachment to the shaft and the color bands each being 240 mm high.
