Brass hilt. Guard with six branches (one main branch, four secondary branches at the front, one secondary branch at the back) forming a pierced shell in the shape of a palmette known as a "battle guard." Cap with short tail decorated with lines. Handle made of beech wood covered in black waxed calfskin. Straight blade with double groove, 89.2 cm in length. Black varnished leather scabbard with three brass fittings with scalloped edges, chape with prominent cuvette entry, brass belt loops and rings, scabbard tip with brass shoe.

Good to very good condition, missing the filigree, blade with oxidation, rear leather seam of the scabbard unstitched, varnish on the scabbard flaking.
