BICORNE HAT OF A GENERAL, Vendémiaire An XII model, First Empire style, 20th-century reenactment. 32724
Black felt hat with a 7.7 cm wide gold braid, scalloped edges, and crests, woven with an oak branch and its fruits. Cords made of two matte gold twists, doubled around the uniform button and held in place by the same button. Large gold uniform button, 1804 model in gilded brass, decorated with a trophy of flags and a shield stamped with the imperial eagle and topped with a helmet, all resting on a winged fasces. Tricolor passementerie cockade, silver on the outside then scarlet and national blue on the inside. Interior headpiece consisting of a black waxed morocco turban. Each corner adorned with a large tassel of golden trimmings.
