Printed document, written in French, providing the "rules that Prisoners of War on parole shall observe".
"The Prisoner has given his Word of Honor that he will not go beyond the Limits prescribed to him, without having obtained Permission for this from the Commissioners appointed to guard Prisoners of War; that he will behave decently, and with the respect due to the Laws of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland ... [...].

On the side, across the statement of these rules, signature of the prisoner "Jn-Pre TAILHADE S. Lt".

Below the statement of these rules, an attestation in English that Jean-Pierre TAILHADE, second lieutenant in the 25th regiment, is indeed a French prisoner of war in Kelso, Scotland, and that he undertakes to comply with the rules:
"I do hereby certify, the the Bearer, Monsieur Jean Pierre Tailhade, S.Lieut. 25th regiment, is a French Prisoner of War residing under my care at Kelso in Scotland and the he is bound by his Parole of Honor to the faithful Observance of the above Regulations".
This document was issued on February 3, 1812, signed "John Smith" "Agent for Prisoners of War on Parole, at Kelso.

In fair condition, folds, tears at the folds with repairs on the back (with pasted paper), frayed edges, some foxing,
