FULL DRESS UNIFORM OF A CAPTAIN OF THE VOLTIGEURS OF THE IMPERIAL GUARD, model 1854-1860, Second Empire. 32633
Uniform in dark blue almost black cloth, closing straight at the front with nine buttonholes, adorned with gilt brass buttons. Collar cut straight in jonquil cloth lined with black velvet, closing with three black lacquered metal clasps. Front adorned with a plastron in white cloth lined with dark blue cloth, attached to the uniform with six buttons on each side and one button in each of the upper corners. Uniform buttons in gilt brass stamped with the imperial eagle and the inscription "IMPERIAL GUARD", small size, Ø 1.7 cm. Turnback loops in blue cloth piped in jonquil, forming a point at the front, adorned with two small-sized uniform buttons.
At the back, fake vertical pockets with three jonquil piped points, each point adorned with a large-sized uniform button, Ø 2.2 cm. Jonquil facing back turnbacks, each adorned in the lower corners: on the outside with an embroidered hunting horn in gold thread and sequins, on the inside with a grenade made of gold thread, sequins, and cannetille. Waist knot adorned with two large uniform buttons.
Shoulder strap loops in gold braid lined with dark blue cloth. Epaulets in gold braid finished with soft fringes called "puits cords", lined with dark blue cloth and adorned with a small-sized uniform button.
Interior lining in black cloth and ecru silk with a belt made of burgundy waxed morocco leather.

Very good condition, collar slightly sun-faded, small 3 mm diameter tear at the top of the front part of the uniform, turnback insignias with signs of usual oxidation.
