Twisted barrel, model of the Mousqueton AN IX but elongated, length 102.7 cm, length with breech tail 108 cm, caliber 17.5 mm, dated "1817," stamped with the "DT" mark of the inspector Dombret, 1814-1818, and an illegible stamp. Breech tail with no decoration or inscription.
Lock plate of the Mousqueton AN IX engraved "Manuf Royale De Versailles," stamped with a "C" in an oval, with a brass pan. All fittings in silvered brass, following the style of the Year XIII rifle but with lighter proportions (butt plate, sling swivel, side plate, side nails), all stamped with the "H" mark of the second inspector Hardy. Half-Charolais-shaped trigger guard. S-shaped counter-plate. Butt plate with a return terminating in a fleur-de-lis. Oval-shaped thumb piece, embossed with the Arms of France and the inscription "VIVE LE ROI" (Long live the King).
Engraved attribution plate on the lock side cheek stating "Given By the King to Mr. DOUCERÉ (Once)."
AN IX system stock, thinner, wood marked "JD."
Iron ramrod with a nail-shaped head.
Overall length of the rifle 143.4 cm.
Bayonet with a 36.5 cm blade, total length of 44 cm.

Étienne François DOUCERÉ, farmer (merchant) in the town of Médréac, Ille-et-Vilaine department, as a sub-lieutenant in the Division de Bourmont. Born on July 30, 1793, died on July 24, 1866.
