"Turkish-style" hilt. Cap with a short tail, molded with flowers, rosettes, and acanthus leaves, with a lion head cover. Handle of wood wrapped in copper filigree leather. Symmetrical crosspiece molded with the royal coat of arms at the center, joined at the back. Light cavalry blade with hollow edges and grooves, 81.2 cm long, marked "Manufre Rale de Klingenthal 9bre 1823." Scabbard with a wooden core wrapped in ornate brass, with fitted stamped plates in windows, the upper plate flanked by two suspension hooks, melted and chiseled with attributes: shako with plume, drum, oboe, amid foliage and other arabesques; scabbard signed at the back of the chape "Manceaux / in Paris." Three reinforcing bands feature a laurel wreath design. The melted brass tip is chiseled on both sides with a lion head on the outside.
