Brass hilt. Guard with one branch marked "1024," then re-marked "165." Short-tailed pommel. Handle made of wood covered in black waxed calfskin with brass filigree. Curved blade with hollow grooves, 80 cm long, with the back of the blade engraved "Mre Impale de Châtt - mars 1856 = Caner mounted model 1829." Natural leather knot. Steel scabbard with two suspension rings similarly marked to the guard "165."
