Handwritten heading "Army of the Orient / ENGINEERING / Detachment of the 2nd Sappers Company." Citizen Antoine VINACHE, a First Class Engineering Lieutenant in the mentioned company, lost his belongings at the capture of Fort Aboukir and was taken prisoner of war by the Turks on 27 Messidor year 7 (July 15, 1799).
The document details the number and nature of the items involved, along with the corresponding amounts.
Certified as accurate and signed "Vinache," Alexandria, 2 Vendémiaire year 8 (September 24, 1799).

At the bottom of the page, the Chief Engineer Sanson* and the Engineering Battalion Chief Sorbier** certify that Citizen Vinache was taken prisoner by the Turks.
On the reverse side, the document is also certified by the War Commissioner on 4 Vendémiaire year 8 (September 26, 1799).

* Nicolas Antoine Sanson, born on December 7, 1756 in Paris, died on October 29, 1824 in Passy-sur-Seine (Seine-et-Marne), was a French general of the Revolution and the Empire.
[...] In May 1798, he was called for the Egyptian Campaign and was present at the capture of Malta, the Battle of Alexandria on July 2, 1798, the battles of Chebreiss on July 13, and the Pyramids on July 21, where he displayed his usual bravery. He was promoted to Brigadier General on August 11, 1799, and on the same day, took command of the engineering of the Army of the Orient.
Upon his return to France, he was appointed Director of the General War Depot on June 3, 1802, and on May 17, 1803, he was awarded a sword of honor for his services in Egypt. He was made a Knight of the Legion of Honor on December 11, 1803, and a Commander of the Order on June 14, 1804.

** Jean François Sorbier, born on November 18, 1744 in Saint-Quentin-la-Poterie, died on June 13, 1826 in Pougnadoresse, was a French military officer of the Revolution and the Empire.
