* Baron Marie Stanislas Prévost, born on February 23, 1776, in Nantes (Province of Brittany), died on April 11, 1831, in Nantes (Loire-Inférieure), was a French general of the Revolution and the Empire.
[...] He received his battalion chief commission on January 2, 1809, in the Portuguese army, and was wounded by a gunshot to the left thigh on April 3, 1811, at the Battle of Sabugal. He was awarded the Legion of Honor on April 6, 1811, and was appointed colonel on November 17, 1811, of the 26th Line Infantry Regiment.
During the first Restoration, he was retained in his command, promoted to Officer of the Legion of Honor on August 24, 1814, and then made a Knight of the Order of Saint Louis on November 27, 1814.
During the Hundred Days, he fought in the Vendée and participated in the battle on May 18, 1815, at Saint-Pierre-des-Échaubrognes. He was promoted to brigadier general on June 5, 1815, and took command of the 2nd brigade of General Ambert's division in the Army of the Loire.
Upon the return of the Bourbons, and following the ordinance of August 1, 1815, his promotion to the rank of general was annulled. He was placed on non-active duty at the rank of colonel and retired in 1823. In 1830, he assumed command of the National Guard in Nantes.
He passed away on April 11, 1831, in Nantes.
