* Dominique Pierre CAMBRIELS, born on January 17, 1767 in Lagrasse (Aude), died on April 8, 1845 in Lagrasse (Aude), was a French general of the Revolution and the Empire.
[...] On June 15, 1809, he embarked on the frigate "La Furieuse" bound for France. On July 21 of the same year, he was captured after the frigate fell into the hands of the English and was taken to England.
Released on parole, he was confirmed in his rank of colonel on August 14, 1806, and on August 22, 1812, he took command of the 31st Light Infantry Regiment. Assigned to the army in Spain, he was present on October 7, 1813, at the Battle of the Bidassoa, where he was wounded by a gunshot to his right leg, and on February 7, 1814, at the Battle of Orthez.
During the first restoration, he was promoted to Officer of the Legion of Honor on August 24, 1814 by King Louis XVIII, and he was appointed to lead the 3rd Light Infantry Regiment. He was placed on non-active duty with the honorary rank of Brigadier General on January 27, 1815. [...]
