Félix DONNET was born in Turin, department of Po, on April 24, 1781.
Joined the regiment as a Chasseur on April 14, year IX.
Appointed Marshal of the Stables on May 26, 1809.
Served in 1806 in Italy under the command of Marshal Masséna, in 1807 and 1808 in the Grande Armée, and in 1809 in the army of Germany.
Handwritten note signed by Colonel Ameil *: "Extremely mediocre merit. Few skills".
Written in St Omer, July 1810.

HISTORICAL CONTEXT:
The 24th Regiment of Horse Chasseurs is a French army cavalry unit. Created during the French Revolution wars in 1793, the regiment also fought during the Napoleonic Wars and was disbanded in 1814.
* Auguste-Jean-Joseph-Gilbert AMEIL, 1st baron Ameil and of the Empire, known as Auguste Jean Ameil, born on January 6, 1775 in Paris and died on September 16, 1822 in Saint-Maurice, was a French military officer who fought during the period of the Revolution and the First Empire.
As a squadron leader in 1805 in the Hanover army under Bernadotte, he then participated in the campaigns of Germany, Poland, and Russia. Appointed Colonel of the 24th Regiment of Horse Chasseurs on June 12, 1809, he was promoted to brigadier general on November 21, 1812.
