Autograph letter from "Charrier, captain paymaster officer of the first two war battalions of the 60th line regiment, acting officer of civil status" to "Mr. The mayor of the municipality of La Côte St André, Department of Isère".
The rifleman Louis GARNIER of the 6th Company of the 1st battalion of the said Regiment, born on September 15, 1781 in the municipality of La Côte St André, wishes to marry Anne Marie Chiabotto. Captain Charrier informs the mayor of La Côte St André to proceed with the publication and posting of the marriage promise, "as required by article 94 of the civil code".
The letter also mentions, "These future spouses have a male child, born out of their love, who is 4 months old."

Double sheet, 1 1/2 pages. Size: 24.1 cm x 18.5 cm.
Good condition, folds, small creased area at the top (outside of text).
