HISTORY: The 5th infantry regiment (5th RI) is an infantry regiment of the French Army created during the Revolution from the Navarre regiment, a French regiment of the Ancien Régime, one of the Six Great Old Regiments.

- Header of the French Army of Dalmatia. Signed by the Colonel of the regiment, "Chevalier de Plauzonne," addressed to the Minister of War. Proposal for the replacement of Mr. Pageot appointed adjutant major, by Mr. Mouillon, sub-lieutenant of grenadiers, chevalier of the Legion of Honor.

BIOGRAPHY: Louis Auguste Marchand de Plauzonne, born on July 7, 1774, in Fontainebleau (Seine-et-Marne), killed on September 7, 1812, at the Battle of Borodino (Russia), is a French general of the Revolution and the Empire.
