Absolute leave granted to Laurent LINK, timpanist and quartermaster sergeant in the Conty Regiment *. Born in Alsace (Chillik?), under the jurisdiction of Strasbourg.
Aged 40. Enlisted in this regiment on March 15, 1758.
Niort, June 11, 1776.

* The Conty regiment is an infantry regiment of the Kingdom of France, created in 1684 under the name of Périgord Regiment, which became the 81st regiment of the line during the Revolution.

Absolute leave granted to Laurent LINK, drum major in the 19th Infantry Regiment. Born in Chillik (?), district of Strasbourg. Aged 50.
Done in Bergues, January 9, 1792.
Served in this Corps since April 1, 1787. Handwritten note: "He also served in the Conty Cavalry Regiment from May 18, 1758, until March 25, 1776, and additionally for 9 years and 11 months in Vigier" *
On the back, there is a handwritten note detailing the items given to Link upon his departure.

In fair condition, folds with some small tears, lower edge with tears, some foxing.
* The Vigier regiment is an infantry regiment composed of Swiss mercenaries from the Canton of Solothurn in the service of the Kingdom of France. It was created in 1673 under the name of Gréder Regiment and became the 69th regiment of the line during the Revolution.
