CUIRASSIER SABRE, 1st Empire model, from the battlefield of Waterloo, Hundred-Days period. Inventory number 32529.
Brass hilt. Four-branch guard, marked "1638", signed "VERSAILLES". Cap with a short tail. Wooden handle covered in calfskin filigree brass, brass ferrules. Straight blade with double hollow edges, length 95.6 cm, with a "B" over a controller's star P. BICK stamp (December 1813 - September 1818), "B" within a laurel crown from inspector J.J.C. Bureau (February 1819-March 1822) and "L" from reviser F.L. Lobstein (1813 to July 1821). The back of the blade is signed "Manufre Rle du Klingenthal January 1815"; the tip has been corrected and is in line with the central ridge. Natural buffalo cravat. Steel scabbard with two suspension rings.

Fair condition, missing a large part of the filigree, surface oxidation on the blade, black lacquered scabbard.
NOTE:
This saber was brought to Great Britain after the Battle of Waterloo.
