BOARDING CUTLASS, model 1833, July Monarchy. 32309
Guard entirely made of pitch-blackened iron, solid shell consisting of steel plate, interior of the shell painted scarlet. Cap and handle made of octagonal wood covered with metal sheet.
Hollow-ground blade. Length 67.2 cm. Anchor engraved on each side. Spine marked "Manufre Rle de Châtellerault 7bre 1842". Leather scabbard with two brass fittings, with a knuckle bow cap with a black varnished leather loop.
