REPRODUCTION OF A FLINTLOCK PISTOL, model 1786 from the Old Monarchy, XXth century. 32528
Octagonal barrel at the breech then round with "N P" marks, length 23 cm. Backstrap marked "M 1786", this marking does not correspond to a period marking. Composite flintlock mechanism, recuperated lockplate fitted with a non-model hammer, false anchor mark (on a model that never existed), front part assembly with the counter-lock screw protruding outside the lockplate. Crude wooden grip carving. Brass fittings all marked with a morning star (on a model that never existed under the Old Monarchy).
France (partially)
XXth century reassembly from elements of the XIXth century and more modern. Poor condition, accidents and wood loss, lockplate refitted later, barrel not original, backstrap later addition.
