PAIR OF OFFICER'S STIRRUPS, First Empire. 32219

Made of cast, chiseled, and gilded bronze. Each branch of the stirrup is molded in a spiral shape, ending with acanthus leaves at the tip, and connected at the top by an eyelet. The round-shaped plate is openwork and decorated on the edges with a series of vertical lines; it is pierced in the center and the top is grooved for the boots' grip. Plate diameter 10 cm, width with branches 14 cm, height 14.2 cm.
