Made of black felted beaver embellished on each of its outer edges with ostrich feathers. Each corner is decorated with large twisted silver tassels, known as "spinach seeds". White silk cockade with a diameter of 8 cm. Trimmed with silver thread, cannetille, and sequins passementerie, 15.7 cm high, 4.2 cm wide, entirely embroidered in the pattern of the regiment's uniform braid, held at the lower part by a silver uniform button stamped with the face of the sun on a radiant background, diameter of 2.5 cm.
Height of the hat at the front 26 cm, height at the back 34.5 cm, width 43.5 cm, depth 17 cm.
Interior lining composed of a 7 cm high ochre calf band and an ivory silk inner lining with a black printed paper label at the bottom stating "ROUD HATTER N° 101 Rue de Richelieu A PARIS."
